as Jennifer Goines
Emily Hampshire stars as Jennifer Goines, the female version of Brad Pitt’s character in the movie, in “12 Monkeys,” Syfy’s adventure thriller, inspired by the blockbuster film.
Born and raised in Montreal, Hampshire has made an indelible mark on the Canadian film and television industry in a relatively short period of time. Her work has been recognized by the Canadian Academy of Cinema and Television with three Genie Award nominations, a Gemini Award for her work on the small screen, and she was chosen by her peers in the Canadian Actors Guild as a nominee for Outstanding Female Performance at the ACTRA Awards. In 2013, Variety named her an ‘International Star You Need to Know,’ while she was also featured on the NextGen Canada list by The Hollywood Reporter the same week.
At the 2012 Cannes International Film Festival, Hampshire received the Birks Canadian Diamond Award during the Canadian Talent Tribute presented by Telefilm Canada for her career and work in the David Cronenberg directed movie “Cosmopolis.” Hampshire appeared opposite Robert Pattinson in an unusual “huis clos,” playing Jane Melman.
Later that year, Hampshire was praised by John Anderson in Variety for her ‘winning performance’ in “My Awkward Sexual Adventure” after the TIFF 2012 movie premiere.
In 2013, she starred in the futuristic-zombie movie “The Returned” by Manuel Carballo, wrapped “That Burning Feeling” starring John Cho and starred in “All the Wrong Reasons” alongside Kevin Zegers and Cory Monteith, which appeared at TIFF 2013.
In addition to “12 Monkeys,” Hampshire is starring in the CBC series “Shitt’s Creek,” alongside Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara.
